Technical Product Owner

Your mission

JCAII provides intelligent hardware and software solutions to support aircraft traffic and deicing operations management to over 200 airports globally. JCAII has designed and developed the most comprehensive and complete deicing coordination, operational management and information collection systems available worldwide. We are currently seeking a Technical Product Owner for our team based in Plano, TX, USA. This is a hybrid position and will be done partially remotely.

As an effective Technical Product Owner joining our team, you will lead and inspire in a technical environment and collaborate with various cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

You are skilled in and enjoy coordinating software product development with multiple complex components

You can lead and collaborate with technical cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, QA, devops, etc
You can identify gaps in solutions and debate technical approaches
You can confidently write detailed technical specifications for new feature user stories and define technical acceptance criteria
You advocate for the development team and their needs of maintaining the project, owning all technical debt/chore tasks
You are confident in leading and participating in technical discussions during scrum ceremonies including sprint plans and refinements and in front of stakeholders
You work closely with PO and assist in prioritizing the backlog based on project/customer needs
You engage with developers, engineering leads, and are the primary contact for development cycles
You embrace the principles of Scrum Agile principles and methodologies

Your profile

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Project Management, or related fields
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent Agile certification – An asset
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, engineering methodologies, tools, database management
Passion for working with cross functional teams to discover solutions to customer problems
Ability to communicate requirements from a user and technical perspective
High degree of organization, attention to detail, initiative and personal accountability to own the product
Some knowledge of programming languages, platforms and frameworks (eg. Django, Java/JEE, React, Firebase, JavaScript, Swift, SwiftUI, CI tools such as CodeBuild, version control systems such as GitHub, web hosting platforms such as Amazon AWS and Google Cloud Platform, experience in various platforms such as iOS, MacOS - An asset
