During the lifetime of a released product issues will appear that affect its manufacturability, or its usage by customers. Examples are component obsolescence (End-of-Life of a component), component availability (very long lead times), or field quality issues. In the position as a Sustaining Engineer you are responsible for solving these issues in order to keep the product portfolio alive. You will perform this activity independently, with the support of the R&D engineers.

Your tasks
- Proposing, evaluating, testing, and qualifying component changes based on availability, cost reduction and / or performance improvements
- Root cause analysis to find out what is causing the field issues
- Writing and executing ECOs (Engineering Changed Order) to release the improved products
- Together with Sourcing, defining and implementing a multiple sourcing strategy
- Set up and execute subset of performance tests on regular basis (e.g EMC test every 3 years) to assess and improve product quality in consultation with the quality manager.
- Maintaining effective interaction with various stakeholders to involve all necessary parties in the successful implementation of sustainable technical results
- Providing insight into the results in terms of progress and quality by means of reports and generated output.
